At any given time throughout the year residents can expect to be a part of a curated cohort with 2-4 other writers, artists, and digital nomads in residence.

Residency duration is unique and determined by each resident in coordination with HVWR availability and project and personal requirements. Some residencies have a term as long as several months, while other residents have configured residencies comprised of one extended weekend out of each month for several months, booking a few months out in advance each time. It’s a choose your own adventure. There is a cap of three (3) months on duration.
Typically, residencies are one to two weeks or one month, though longer term residents find themselves well supported in the contexts of both HVWR and the greater village community. Some have even sought permanent housing nearby and one resident even explored buying one of the buildings downtown!
What we’re saying is, if you find yourself tempted to lay down roots, we won’t be surprised and you won’t be the first.

Yes, there is free parking on the street in front of the residence.
No, you do not need a car. Everything in the village is walkable including the General Store for produce and groceries; occasional trips to the Topps Supermarket 5 minutes away can be arranged with fellow cohorts or director.

Case-by-case, with weighted consideration given the comfort and well-being of the small dog in permanent residence.
-
The small, 13 lb dog on site grew up backstage in the theatre. He’s been on live stage, live television, and is accustomed to rotating groups of people in artist housing. His one bad habit is greeting people at the door with loud barking. Otherwise, he moves between rooms designated for him and is not permitted in residents’ rooms unless welcome and invited. Past residents, including those with severe allergies, have co-habited with the HVWR dog without issue. He is extremely cute, charismatic and, albeit always hungry, please do not feed the animals.

Bi-Weekly Pro Cleaning: Patricia, HVWR’s cleaning contractor comes twice monthly to clean bathrooms and common areas. Longer term residents may request her services for their individual rooms at an additional charge of $20/visit.
Daily - Considerate Adults Only Please: Residents are expected to leave shared/common areas cleaner than they found them and can expect to hear from management (gently, but we do run a tight ship) whenever anyone falls short.
Cooking: Occasionally, cohort members take turns cooking for one another or the group. Also, organized group nights out on the town or to neighboring towns for meals is a not infrequent occurrence. The kitchen is big enough to overlap meal prep, and this tends to figure itself out when everyone is cooking for themselves.
